This study aims to examine Qur’anic readings (Qirāʾāt) as an effective mechanism for generating and expanding meaning within the Qur’anic text. The research begins with a conceptual and theoretical framework addressing the notion of Qur’anic readings and semantic multiplicity, followed by an analysis of the mechanisms of meaning generation at the morphological, syntactic, semantic, and rhetorical levels. It then explores the role of Qur’anic readings in broadening interpretive horizons, enriching exegesis, and guiding maqāṣid-based understanding. The study concludes that variation In Qur’anic readings does not result in contradiction, but rather reflects a principle of complementarity and diversity, which enhances semantic richness and highlights an aspect of the Qur’an’s linguistic and rhetorical Inimitability.
