The agricultural landscape of Al-Hashimiya Al-Kabira village, in the Hibhib district, is characterized by its favorable natural resources for agricultural production. It lies within the alluvial plain, known for its fertile soil and suitability for cultivating numerous crops. However, the agricultural sector faces several challenges that hinder its development, most notably low rainfall and a heavy reliance on artificial irrigation. There is also a noticeable lack of adoption of modern agricultural technologies and insufficient attention to advanced crop rotation practices, which negatively impacts production efficiency and yields. The region also suffers from the presence of unlined irrigation projects, leading to increased water loss and reduced irrigation efficiency. Furthermore, efforts to address agricultural problems such as desertification and soil salinization are inadequate. Adding to these challenges is the shortage of fertilizers available to farmers, which negatively affects land and crop productivity. Despite these obstacles, grain cultivation ranked first in terms of cultivated area, covering 1,057 dunams, demonstrating the continued agricultural activity and its role in supporting the local economy. However, there is a need to develop agricultural infrastructure and adopt modern technologies to achieve sustainable agricultural development.
